A copy of this was posted on the trdev-l group at Penn State. I’m including it here.
I’m posting this here in the hope that the members of the CTI list might come across this, and I’ll repost this on my blog. The last approved post on the CTI list was on April 21, a month ago.
My understanding is the only person who can approve messages is the owner. There have been several such absences before, but this one is different. According to a news report and an TV report, an arrest was made on May 16.
Whatever. However, it is pretty likely that the CTI members may not be served via the CTI list, perhaps permanently.
There is obviously no way to contact them except to post in various places and hope they find the news, so they can, perhaps find other venues for the discussion of training.
So, I know that many of you are involved in other venues for the discussion of training in different formats, etc. Could you be so kind as to post how to access those alternatives here and/or on my blog, so they can be found?
It would be great if you could leave a comment.

The American Society For Training and Development provides a forum for discussion, and you don’t have to be a member to access it. You can find it at http://www.astd.org/communities/
There are a number of sub-boards, but for the most part there is not that much activity. Still, it’s an option, and at least it’s run by reputable people.
Anyone got more?

The Training World was setup initially as a forum at google groups to function as a companion to this site and this blog. It really was never intended to be active as an interactive forum, but lo and behold, there are something like 250 subscribers.
It can be used for discussions, however, but note that it is moderated. Robert Bacal set it up and for the most part, it’s been used for announcements of interest to the training and development world.
It’s available at: http://groups.google.com/group/the-training-world
Robert also informs me that he has very little interest in running or moderating an active training list. So, it sounds like it’s a good stop gap measure for people to use in the event of nothing else being available.

The International Communication Training Institute provides discussion space and resources for trainers working with non-profit and church groups.

Here’s another alternative we didn’t know about that comes through @agsteele on twitter. He points us to a site for the International Communication Training Institute, which hosts several forums, one of which is focused on communication training. In case it’s relevant it’s in England.
