What kind of “trainers” seek to destroy over 10,000 pages of valuable message posts? TRDEV owners!

It truly boggles the mind. The owners of the trdev discussion list have already removed the archives for the list which contain over 10,000 posts contributed over many years, and containing tons of valuable links, information and ideas for those involved with training and development.

I chronicled the abject stupidity of these owners when the list was alive, and explained that they would, in fact, kill the list. They’ve succeeded at that through being paranoid and making sure that nobody could actually find the list unless they were “in the know”. Sure, keep a list a secret, and then bemoan the fact that nobody contributes to it.

It’s one thing for these fools to give up. I’ve suggested for ages that they should resign and hand the list over to people who care about the training and development community. But no. Shut er down, erase its history, and who cares what is lost. Lost nuggets of wisdom. Don’t care. Great links and thoughts gone. Don’t care. Don’t care, don’t care.

There is simply no excuse for a trainer that is committed to helping others learn to destroy a valuable source of public knowledge, because he or she is bitter about “negativity” about the list. Perhaps a little more of paying attention to suggestions about how to make the list work would have gone a long way.

So, in particular, to the owner of trdev — one in particular who has presided over several discussion list deaths. How many more are you going to destroy?

And what give any of you the moral right to destroy the archives. You did not create them. You worked to destroy them. Now you erase them?

  1. They are now busy erasing all the members — last time I looked on TRDEV’s homepage it was down to 333. That must of been a hell of a discussion between the three owners (Bev, Kobus, & Rich) to destroy not only a community, but more importantly a large repository of information. . . imagine it being made into a movie — sort of along the lines of “Twelve Angry Men” — “Ignition of the Phoenix, Waterbuck & Pearl: Regeneration Fails.” Soundtrack by Talking Heads, includes their hit “Burning Down the House.”
