The Harm - MBTI?

Trainers often tend to ignore situations where MBTI results are actually used to harm people, classify them, exclude, etc, because the tool is not meant to be used that way. But it happens, and all one has to do is do some searching on the net and usenet. Here’s a few examples

I think it’s informative for people who haven’t seen how people actually think about and use MBTI and type resuts to have a chance to see. So, here’s a quote:

“Awww, poor wittle baby. There’s no way you’re an INTJ. INTJ’s do not ask questions like, “who did this to me?” They don’t whine like little babies. So this is where you come to whine, huh? Pathetic.”

Note: Apparently this is from a list specifically for INTJ’s. Does the MBTI always work to increase  understanding of diversity in human functioning?

Here’s another that might relate to understanding others.

“If Cybersquat wants to talk about INTJ subjects with other INTJs I suggest she ignore the F’s here and interact only with “her own kind”.

Wonder how this would be perceived if we replaced INTJ with terms referring to ethnic groups?

Second quote:

“SUBJECT: INTJ’s and money How much is enough? and where to spend it?

I was reading the latest e-mails and wonder what is an appropriate amount of money to have?”

Apparently this 30 something needs some help from other INTJ’s on how much money he should get, and what to do with it.
