By

rom blogs, to bulletin boards, from Facebook to MySpace, social networking tools have become increasingly popular modes of entertainment and self-expression. Tens of thousands of people create lives in SecondLife or network through MySpace in their time away from work. Despite the popularity of these tools (a recent study found that teenagers spent, on average, 15 hours per week on MySpace), social networking tools are not currently prevalent in the training world. Using Social Networking for Recruitment and Training
By
Ray B. Williams
-
Social networks such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and others are now being used by recruiters to recruit talent and implement training.
Josh Bersin reported in his blog that organizations are now working on strategies to leverage social networking for corporate training, customer education and support and talent management. Beresin says that 77% of all L&D organizations believe that workers under the age of 25 have significantly different learning styles, particularly in the area of collaborative learning, compared to older workers, and that 25% of larger companies are using some form of e-learning or learning on demand. .

By
Michael Wilkinson
-
If you are a typical purchaser considering a facilitation training class to attend or to have taught in-house, there are probably lots of standard questions you would a sk the training vendor. Common questions might include: What topics are taught? What are the desired outcomes? How long is the class? How much does it cost? Can it be customized? Based on these basic questions, you could very easily conclude that facilitation classes are pretty similar, so you might as well choose the least expensive or the most convenient in terms of location.

By

Giving negative feedback sucks. Period. It's uncomfortable for you and it's uncomfortable for the person hearing it. But no matter how much you twist and turn to avoid it, giving negative feedback may be the kindest way to change behaviour. And believe it or not, there are ways of delivering it that make it less painful for all parties involved.
