ADDIE is an acronym that describes the steps in an instructional design model. The model (usually referred to as ADDIE) appears to have emerged from the military post World War II. Unlike some instructional models its origins are not entirely clear and it is not identified with any one originator or person.

Each of the acronyms letters stand for a different step:

  • Analysis
  • Design
  • Development
  • Implementation
  • Evaluation
